Solo

How old are you?

Where were you born?

Where did you grow up?

How did that place influence your music? (if at all!)

From a guitar teacher who got me playing rock music like thin Lizzy and Gary Moore back in Leeds. My dad also from playing old records back in Yorkshire when I was a kid.

Where are you based now, and why?

Australia since I moved to WA when I was 16.

What got you into making music in the first place?

Starting to produce my own songs and how to use music software.

Who would be in your top 10 musical influences, and why?

John Myaer, Jimi Hendrix, ACDC, Led Zepplin, D Angelo, Stereophonics, The Verve, Oasis, The Faces, Rod Stewart, Brain Adams.

What process, or processes, do you often find yourself using when you write songs?

Guitar always first.

How long have you been playing open mic nights?

Why did you get into playing them in the first place?

Years ago I haven’t played them for years only with friends, I’m a professional musician in Australia.

What advice would you give new performers who are just starting out playing their first open mics?

Do as many as you can to get your confidence in playing up.

What’s the hardest thing, for you, about playing open mics?

I don’t find them hard only when trailing new gear or experimenting new ideas.

What’s the most bizarre, or fun, open mic, or gig, you’ve ever played, and why?

I once played a great open mic in Melbourne Australia. Was a fun night but turned very bluesy since the crowd was into that sort of music.

Yes

What do you currently find the hardest and biggest obstacles to moving your music career forward?

Myself and procrastination,

What’s the one truth about you that people often find surprising?

I find singing really hard and I judge myself heavily on it.

What’s the most exciting project you’re working on at the moment?

An album.
