How did that place influence your music? (if at all!)

It didn’t really.

Where are you based now, and why?

Back in Stockwell due to mental health trials and education.

What got you into making music in the first place?

I’ve always grown up in music, I used to be a dancer and thought I’d give making my own sound from scratch a try. I was blessed enough to gain a following in the US for a bit but as I’m rebranding I’m starting again fresh.

Masego for his musical ability and aura
Lauryn Hill because she is as authentic as they come and she speaks on things that are important and needing to be discussed more.
Erykah Badu because she is a chilled individual.
Brayla because she holds onto the old school R&B vibe

What process, or processes, do you often find yourself using when you write songs?

Coming up with a subject, writing words that rhyme and make sense then piece them together with wordplay.

How long have you been playing open mic nights?

Why did you get into playing them in the first place?

I needed a release and for people to hear me.

What advice would you give new performers who are just starting out playing their first open mics?

If you’re good, if you’re bad, no one cares, the aim is for people to remember your name so be authentically you.

Yes

What do you currently find the hardest and biggest obstacles to moving your music career forward?

Marketing, content creation and networking.

What’s the one truth about you that people often find surprising?

Social anxiety kicks my ass unnecessarily.

What’s the most exciting project you’re working on at the moment?

Currently drawing up a plan for my first release as an independent artist.
