What got you into making music in the first place?

Instruments were always around when I was growing up.

What instrument/s do you play?

Singing, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Percussion, Music Producer

Björk, John Mayer, Jhameel, Thom Yorke, visual arts, David Byrne, Michael Jackson,

Do you write your own songs?

Yes

How many years have you been writing songs for?

Since my teens.

What process, or processes, do you often find yourself using when you write songs?

I have ideas jump out at me a lot so I’m always recording phone memos humming a guitar line or a melody. I love working out harmonies so just looping a melody round and singing on top, underneath and seeing what sticks – nothing off limits!

Why did you get into playing open mic in the first place?

I was writing songs and playing covers and wanted to get better playing to people

What advice would you give new performers who are just starting out playing their first open mics?

Book your slots or show up early for the signup! Don’t be too nervous, open mics are the perfect place to learn and get you moving in circles of like-minded people 🙂

What’s the most bizarre, or fun, open mic, or gig, you’ve ever played, and why?

Spur of the moment rendition of Get Lucky in a uni lift

My dream/alt pop band – Momo and the Minutes!
