What got you into making music in the first place?

I wanted something that felt entirely mine, my own world.

James Blake, Lianne la Havas, Roasalia, Fka Twigs, Billie Eilish, Beyonce, Sega Bodega, Nick Hakim, Moses Sumney, Chopin. I love the intensely individual style. Everything feels so distinctly them.

Yes

How many years have you been writing songs for?

What process, or processes, do you often find yourself using when you write songs?

I change my process but I often begin with chords or sounds and follow the feeling for the first few lines. Then I write as much as I can, play with melodies, edit and refine until I’m happy.

How long have you been playing open mic nights?

Why did you get into playing them in the first place?

I wanted to find community.

What advice would you give new performers who are just starting out playing their first open mics?

Have fun and be yourself.

What’s the most bizarre, or fun, open mic, or gig, you’ve ever played, and why?

I once played at the shepherds bush empire and it put into perspective how powerful it is being on a bigger stage.

What do you currently find the hardest and biggest obstacles to moving your music career forward?

Money, network and support

I used to be Simon Cowells dog walker.
