What got you into making music in the first place?
Being introduced to guitar lessons got me thinking about the Creativity and the liveliness of Music 🎶. Learning the foundation of playing chords and learning music scales got me very excited to build my music knowledge. Whilst studying my A-Levels I was getting involved in a lot of music production which taught me a lot about Dynamics, choice of instruments and Mixing and Mastering. My song-Writing started to enhance when i went to University. Since then I’ve always built my skills as a songwriter and wanted to illustrate my authenticity.
What instrument/s do you play?
Singing, Rapping, Piano, Guitar, Music Producer
Who would be in your top 10 musical influences, and why?
Jason Derulo. I love his personality and his Love for R&B and Pop music. Especially his Popular songs, he is so versatile in his Dancing and Singing. He has shown me that it’s possible to be more than 1 thing and show your uniqueness- which gave me a lot of confidence to do the same and strive to do even better. Dance choreography interested me as a young kid so to see Jason Derulo dancing in his Music Videos was so inspiring to me. In addition, I always love his vocal range – which is what I love to do and improve on daily.
Do you write your own songs?
Yes
How many years have you been writing songs for?
4
What process, or processes, do you often find yourself using when you write songs?
I think of a theme and write whatever comes into my mind on a note. After that I keep replaying the best/instrumental to start thinking of rhyming words and the overall message I want to storytell
Why did you get into playing them in the first place?
I have always wanted to perform since I was a teenager and I have an immense passion for music. I want to socially connect with more people and my fans to show them my music and what values I stand as an artist. I know how to embrace excitement towards my audience and put on a show.
What advice would you give new performers who are just starting out playing their first open mics?
Be yourself and have fun!!!
What’s the hardest thing, for you, about playing open mics?
Getting the audience to sing along to your Original Songs they never heard of before
What’s the most bizarre, or fun, open mic, or gig, you’ve ever played, and why?
I played in Kingston Ram Jam Records Open Mic. I remember when I was performing a Jason Derulo Cover, respect to the guy, he proper danced and foot shuffled to my performance in front of everyone and he showed so much Love and support to me!! At one point near towards the end of my performance he knocked over someone’s glass cup but I managed to carry on but after I was laughing so hard!!
