How did that place influence your music? (if at all!)

My upbringing and city/cultural environment had a tremendous influence on my music. The various experiences moulded me into the person I am today and allows me to connect with people through my music and those shared experiences I get to sing about and story-tell with my music

Where are you based now, and why?

London, UK; I am here completing my Master’s Degree.

What got you into making music in the first place?

Just always loved it as a kid. Started out in singing groups and haven’t been able to let music go since then.

Singing

Anita baker, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan, HER, Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston.

Yes

How many years have you been writing songs for?

What process, or processes, do you often find yourself using when you write songs?

Creating/playing around with melodies first, and pulling from my own experiences or my friend’s experiences. I also love to just go to the studio, listen to different beats and just vibe out.

How long have you been playing open mic nights?

Why did you get into playing them in the first place?

A way to connect with people/fans and to perform/practice without much judgement.

What advice would you give new performers who are just starting out playing their first open mics?

Just be you and have fun! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes or take risk with your music/vocal choices, this is the time to try new things.

Yes

What do you currently find the hardest and biggest obstacles to moving your music career forward?

Financial stability and a great creative team to work with collaboratively and consistently.

What’s the one truth about you that people often find surprising?

My age.

What’s the most exciting project you’re working on at the moment?

New singles/EP I am working on.
